LEADERSHIP SERIES

1. KAIZEN KIWIS

On November 26 2005, the New Zealand Rugby League team “the Kiwis” defied the odds to record one of rugby league’s greatest ever upsets. In the final of the Gillette Tri-Series the Kiwis abundantly displayed the belief, trust and brotherhood essential to maximising productivity. With an understanding that “one of the greatest pleasures in life is to do what others say cannot be done” as their catch cry, the Kiwis adopted a Kaizen philosophy and rode a wave of emotion to overcome a 46 year-old Sydney hoodoo and implemented a program of process and structure all the way to an historic series win and a 24 – nil victory over Australia. Learn the strategies employed by Craig to promote a more dynamic and positive culture in this inspirational and entertaining presentation that will spark new initiatives and encourage you to make it happen in your workplace.

3.THE POWER OF OWNERSHIP

The Power of Ownership is not a “pep talk” designed to promote a short-term feel good in leaders and staff. It is a process. It is a journey that recognises most people are capable of delivering far more than they ever believe possible. It is a journey that teaches the importance of getting the inner world right so that the outer world may take care of itself.

The Power of Ownership is about empowerment. It is about leaders who see the need, envision a plan and empower their team for action. It is an atmosphere of shared visions, self-awareness, respect, passion, trust and – above all else – love. Experience first-hand the strategies and processes that have made Craig one of New Zealand’s most revered facilitators of positive performance cultures, and the processes that have culminated in world championship performances in sport and business.

4.GOLDEN RULES OF LEADERSHIP

In recognition that effective leadership is the thing that most differentiates good organisations from championship organisations, The Golden Rules of Leadership is a series of fundamental considerations essential to forming a leadership habit that allows people to flourish. Designed to assist in the ability to direct people and have people accept that direction, it is a celebration of quality actions and integrity based intent.

Encompassing critical considerations such as values and their reinforcement, self-awareness and the power of WOW factors, The Golden Rules of Leadership will best enable leaders to bridge the gap between the closeness and consent they must win and the control they must exert.

5.COPING MECHANISMS OF SPORT CHAMPIONS

POSITIVE STRESS IN THE WORKPLACE

With the appropriate emotional resources, what seems threatening can be taken instead as a challenge, and met with excitement and enthusiasm. Coping Mechanisms highlights the role of the leader in ensuring staff realise the critical difference between good stress (the challenges that mobilise and motivate) and bad stress (threats that overwhelm, paralyse and de-motivate). Based on two decades of positively engaging athletes to accept challenge, Coping Mechanisms avails leaders with strategies for the promotion of positive emotional states and enhanced work productivity.

6.HARNESSING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

PROMOTING SELF-AWARENESS IN THE WORKPLACE

In recognition that nothing is more powerful than self-discovery, Harnessing Emotional Intelligence appreciates that effective leadership grows out of self-knowledge, character and integrity. It is the realisation that disciplined self-examination instinctively enables leaders to play to their strengths and is the hallmark of superior performance. It is an acknowledgement that star performers know where they need to improve and when to work with someone else who has a strength they lack.

Harnessing Emotional Intelligence espouses that effective leaders understand the self before they can assist others.

7.GOING BEYOND THE LIMITS OF THE POSSIBLE

KNOWING WHY BEATS KNOWING HOW

Knowing why beats knowing how! People who know "why" outperform those who know "how" in all dimensions of performance. These people bring a reflective process to their experiences, and as a consequence are rewarded with significantly enhanced confidence, learning and understanding. It is this understanding that enables them to innovate and adapt according to circumstance, making them best suited to excel in a rapidly changing business world.

This presentation is dedicated to the establishment of strategy proven successful in guiding the self-discovery of people. "Knowing why beats knowing how" is all about learning the "why" of your trade. It is learning to think in systems and to evaluate performance. It is learning the importance of reflection. It is learning that things happen for a reason - and that as a professional it is our objective to unearth that reason. It is learning that every cause has an effect, and how much control we have over that effect. And it is learning that when it comes to achieving our peak performance knowledge of the self is omnipotent.

8.CREATING PEAK PERFORMANCE ENVIRONMENTS IN THE WORKPLACE

Accounts of times when individuals outdid themselves are not just limited to the sporting arenas of the world – surgeons, engineers, managers and others have been equally as adept at describing periods in their working lives when positive emotion has been aligned with the task at hand. Creating Peak Performance Environments is about strategies for the promotion of a clearly focussed workforce, effortless performance and feelings of supreme confidence. It is the ultimate in leading to succeed by enabling others to trust their instincts and best explains the extraordinary performances of world champions in sport and business.

Creating Peak Performance Environments is the ultimate motivator because it espouses confidence born of familiarity with the self and the role. It is an instinctive ability to play to your own strengths.

9.THE ROLE OF INFLUENCE

ENCOURAGING DESIRABLE RESPONSES IN OTHERS

Being an effective communicator is the cornerstone of all social skills and a leader’s greatest tool in the inspiration and motivation of others. It is the most critical ingredient to the development of respect in any organisation. Effective communicators appreciate the power of refined listening and are able to bring a high degree of self-awareness into the process of understanding, acknowledging and responding to another person.

The Role of Influence is effective communication at its best. It is sending convincing and compelling messages to others by ensuring clear, concise and positive delivery. It is conversing in a calm, composed and patient manner. It is a leader’s ability to set aside their own feelings so that they may be fully available to the person they are with. It is an interpretation of emotion. It is the eliciting and gathering of essential information. It is an ability to help in the most appropriate way.

Teamwork, pride in performance, collective responsibility, trust and respect accrue a habit of positive thinking and success.

The Team as A Dynamic Unit is the culmination of Craig’s two decades spent uniting groups in a manner that ensures optimal cooperation, contribution and ownership, and accounts for numerous successes on the international sport stages of the world. It is understanding the importance expression of a leader’s personality has in delivering a group of people who share the same aim, experience, values….. and success.
